Poland volleyball team wins against Slovenia at Wagner Memorial

The XXIII Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial volleyball tournament is currently underway in Kraków at the TAURON Arena. The event serves as a critical final test for the Polish national team ahead of the upcoming European Championships.

In their opening match, Poland secured a hard-fought 3:2 victory against Slovenia. However, the win was tempered by a concerning injury to middle blocker Bartłomiej Lemański, who had to leave the court during the first set. Coach Nikola Grbić expressed hope that the injury is not serious, noting that medical examinations are pending.

Following the win over Slovenia, Poland is scheduled to face the United States in their next match on Saturday, August 29, at 17:00. The tournament features high-level competition, including teams from France, Slovenia, and the USA, with France having previously defeated the United States 3:0.
