Wahdah Islamiyah calls for unity among Islamic organizations

At the fifth Muktamar of Wahdah Islamiyah in Makassar, the organization emphasized the necessity of unity and collaboration among various Islamic mass organizations (ormas) in Indonesia. Muhammad Yusran Anshar, Chairman of the Wahdah Islamiyah Sharia Council, stated that the movement is open to cooperating with different Islamic groups, even those with differing views on secondary religious matters (furu’iyat).

Anshar noted that religious development and community building cannot be achieved through partial efforts. He urged organizations to set aside group egos in favor of collective welfare, likening the diverse potentials of different institutions to the complementary skills of the Prophet’s companions. The event included figures from various backgrounds to demonstrate a commitment to broad Islamic brotherhood and to avoid exclusivity.
