Wailudong Red Wine Music Festival held in Waipu, Taichung

The 8th annual Wailudong Red Wine Music Festival, themed ‘Dionysian Arena: Tipsy Sports Party,’ took place at the Taipei Expo Waipu Park. Organized by the Waipu District Farmers' Association and the Wailudong Leisure Agriculture Area, the event attracted approximately 800 attendees to celebrate local viticulture.

The festival featured four local wineries—Shusheng, Dunakai, Gengyuan, and Jiubaozhuang—offering a variety of local red and white wines. The program integrated music performances by artists such as Pan Ruodi, Lai Ming-wei, and Wu Wen-fang with interactive activities including African drumming, obstacle courses, and wine-themed yoga.

To promote sustainable rural tourism, organizers implemented a comprehensive ‘eat, stay, play, shop, and enjoy’ strategy. This included local food services, shuttle connections from major railway stations, and partnerships with local accommodations. The event also emphasized environmental sustainability by using reusable tableware to reduce plastic waste.
