Wakayama gourmet showcase held at Hanshin Umeda Main Store

The Hanshin Umeda Main Store is hosting the fifth annual ‘Gyu-tto Wakayama’ event, a culinary and cultural showcase featuring specialties from Wakayama Prefecture. The event is presented by students from Wakayama University, who will serve as presenters and staff at the ‘Student SHOP’ to introduce local products to visitors.

Featured items include citrus fruits, plums, and traditional regional foods such as ‘mehari-zushi’. The showcase also highlights products developed through regional problem-solving projects, including items created by students from Wakayama Prefectural Kamishima High School.

In addition to traditional delicacies like plum wine and pickled plums, the event features modern collaborations, such as fruit-based gelato and artisanal bakery items. To commemorate the fifth anniversary, students have also designed an original shopper available to select customers.
