Wakayama Prefecture to host e-sports job experience festival

Wakayama Prefecture will host the e-sports festival ‘Kira★Spo 2026’ across four venues from November 22, 2026, to February 23, 2027. The initiative is part of the ‘e-sports Wakayama Promotion Project,’ which aims to expand the e-sports population and foster new regional culture and revitalization through youth engagement.

The event features a free ‘Job Experience Corner’ where participants can take on roles such as technical staff (camera and audio), web designers, floor assistants, and commentators. Other activities include PC gaming experiences, game creation workshops, cybersecurity learning, and environmental education through Minecraft. The festival will be held at Nanki-no-dai Hall, Wakayama Castle Hall, Nachikatsuura Town Cultural Center, and Wakayama Prefectural Hashimoto Gymnasium.
