Wake Forest Hit the Bricks fundraiser raises record $407,000

The annual Hit the Bricks fundraiser at Wake Forest University has set a new record, raising nearly $407,000 for the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund. The event, held on Oct. 1, saw participation from 2,406 runners and walkers, surpassing the previous year's record of 2,264 participants and $360,000 raised.

Over its 23-year history, student-led organizers at Wake Forest have raised more than $2.1 million for cancer research and patient services. The fundraiser honors the legacy of Brian Piccolo, a former Wake Forest All-American football player who died of embryonal cell carcinoma while playing for the Chicago Bears.
