Wake Forest rises to No. 14 in AP Top 25 poll

Wake Forest has climbed to No. 14 in the AP Top 25 college football rankings following a bye week. The rise was aided by several losses from teams previously ranked ahead of the Demon Deacons, including BYU, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Houston, Iowa, and USC.

In the ACC, Wake Forest (6-1, 4-1) and SMU are currently the only teams in the conference with a single loss. This positioning allows both programs to control their path toward the ACC Championship Game.

Additionally, Wake Forest was ranked unanimously at No. 2 in the Week 8 ACC Power Rankings. While Miami remains the unanimous first-place selection, Wake Forest has maintained the second spot for four consecutive weeks, recently achieving a perfect average ranking of 2.00 among voters.
