Wakkanai High School Brass Band wins gold after 33 years

The Wakkanai High School Brass Band has won a gold award at the 71st Hokkaido Brass Band Competition in the High School C Category (groups of 20 or fewer). This marks the school's first gold award in 33 years.

Performing “Gravitational Wave,” arranged by Kento Ishikawa, the group competed against 13 schools at the Sapporo Kitara Concert Hall. Following two consecutive silver awards in recent years, the band members and advisor, Ayaka Ohashi, expressed great joy at achieving their long-term goal through consistent practice and technical improvement.
