Waldensian and Methodist Synod issues resolutions on peace and Gaza

The Waldensian and Methodist Synod has concluded its sessions with several key resolutions focused on global peace, social inequality, and the protection of children. During the assembly, the Synod approved acts calling for diplomacy and justice to resolve international conflicts, specifically referencing the need for dialogue and the protection of innocent victims in war zones.

In a specific focus on the Middle East, the Synod addressed the situation in Gaza. The assembly expressed support for the Nobel Peace Prize candidacy of children from Gaza and called for the promotion of interreligious dialogue. The Synod also acknowledged the suffering of the Palestinian population and expressed gratitude to Jewish individuals who oppose the current Israeli government's policies.

A dedicated “Children’s Synod” was also integrated into the proceedings, where young participants presented messages regarding the rights of children to safety, environmental attention, and protection from violence and fanaticism. The assembly emphasized the urgent need for education based on mutual respect, particularly concerning Israeli and Palestinian children.
