Waldensian and Methodist Synod to meet in Torre Pellice

The Synod of the Waldensian and Methodist Churches is scheduled to take place from August 22 to 26, 2026, in Torre Pellice, Turin. The assembly will bring together approximately 180 delegates from across Italy to discuss the future agenda and perspectives of the union of these churches.

A key objective of the 2026 edition is the election of a new moderator for the Waldensian Table, succeeding the term of Methodist deacon Alessandra Trotta. The proceedings will be presided over by Pastor Daniele Bouchard, with lawyer Ilaria Valenzi serving as vice president.

The event will include a traditional procession and an inaugural service on August 22, featuring Pastor Eugenio Bernardini as the preacher. Preceding the official assembly, the Giornata Miegge will be held on August 21, focusing on the ethical, cultural, and social implications of artificial intelligence.
