Wales and Argentina gear up for Nations Championship 2026 opener

Wales topped the Barbarians at London’s Allianz Stadium, a confidence‑boosting win before the team’s first Nations Championship fixtures against Fiji in Cardiff, Argentina’s Los Pumas in San Juan and the Springboks in Durban. Coach Steve Tandy highlighted the collective performance despite missing overseas‑based players.

Meanwhile, Argentina’s national side will hold an open, free training session on 27 June at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Córdoba. The event, part of a carbon‑neutral initiative involving local partners, will also feature a rugby‑inclusion day for about 500 children and youth before the Pumas’ debut against Scotland on 4 July.
