Wales housing and regeneration projects advance across multiple regions
Multiple housing and regeneration projects are advancing across Wales, focusing on affordable living and infrastructure.
In Penrhyn Bay, Anwyl has commenced work on the Haul Y Mynydd development, which will provide approximately 300 homes, including 54 designated as affordable. The project includes a new 61-space public car park to support local schools.
In Cardiff, a seven-storey development at Waungron Road in Llandaff has reached its highest construction point. Supported by £7.7 million in Welsh Government funding, the project will deliver 44 council homes and a new transport hub linking bus and rail services. The homes are designed with solar panels and ground source heat pumps to improve energy efficiency.
Additionally, work has begun on a £35.6 million scheme in Cwmbran to build 143 homes on the former County Hall site. Developed by Lovell for Codi Group with Welsh Government backing, the project includes a mix of open market, shared ownership, and social rent properties, with completion expected in early 2029.
In Blaenau Gwent, local authorities are promoting town centre regeneration through a new grant scheme offering up to £25,000 to businesses and landlords for visual enhancements to shopfronts and signage.
