Wales launches new litter‑picking hubs in partnership with football association

Welsh Government minister Llyr Gruffydd announced the opening of four permanent litter‑picking hubs at football venues in North Wales, including a new hub at STōK Cae Ras in Wrexham. The hubs, created in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy and the Football Association of Wales (FAW), add to an existing network of nearly 250 government‑funded sites that provide free equipment for volunteers to organise community clean‑ups.

MP Catherine Fookes joined local volunteers from Keep Abergavenny Tidy in Monmouthshire to collect litter, underscoring political support for the initiative. Both the minister and the MP highlighted the role of community involvement and the lasting impact of the hubs for schools, clubs and residents across Wales.
