Wales rugby eyes league talent and coaching additions

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) is exploring talent from rugby league to strengthen the national squad. Head coach Steve Tandy has indicated an interest in investigating various alternatives to bolster the team, specifically identifying five rugby league players with Welsh connections as potential targets: Morgan Knowles, Bradman Best, Harry Hayes, Samuel Hughes, and Harry Smith.

In coaching developments, Alex Davies is expected to join Steve Tandy’s staff ahead of the autumn Nations Championship. Currently an assistant coach at Leicester Tigers, the 40-year-old Davies is slated to take over skills and kicking responsibilities. He fills a specialized role that has remained without a permanent full-time successor since Neil Jenkins departed the senior Wales setup.
