Wales to host Adult Learners' Week with free educational opportunities

Adult Learners' Week will take place across Wales from September 21 to 27, offering hundreds of free online and in-person courses. The initiative, themed ‘Never Stop Learning’, covers a wide range of subjects including digital literacy, essential skills, cookery, and calligraphy to help boost career prospects, confidence, and wellbeing.

The week is coordinated by the Learning and Work Institute in partnership with the Welsh Government, with support from organizations such as The Open University in Wales, the National Centre for Learning Welsh, ACT, Agored Cymru, and Adult Learning Wales. A key event is the Inspire! Adult Learning Awards, scheduled for September 23 at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff.

Data from the Learning and Work Institute’s Adult Participation in Learning Survey indicates that nearly 47% of adults in Wales reported participating in some form of learning in the three years prior to 2025. Furthermore, 96% of those who engaged in learning reported benefits such as increased confidence, improved skills, or moving closer to personal and professional goals.
