Wales tourism highlights scenic autumn landscapes and coastal routes
Wales is seeing a surge in interest for autumn tourism, with several locations highlighted for their seasonal appeal. Research from GO Outdoors named Whitesands Bay in Pembrokeshire as the best Welsh beach for autumn walks, based on factors including sunshine, temperature, and visitor reviews. Additionally, the Pembrokeshire Coast and the Anglesey Coastal Path were recognized among the top ten most scenic road trip routes in the UK and Ireland.
The National Trust is promoting various autumn activities across its sites, including wildlife spotting for red squirrels, fungi, and deer rutting. In regions like Nottinghamshire, the charity is hosting themed events such as folklore trails and storytelling for the October half term.
Despite the natural appeal, a study commissioned by Visit Wales suggests that potential holidaymakers from the UK, US, and Germany often find planning trips to Wales difficult. The research indicates that while travelers admire the landscape, uncertainty regarding transport costs and the lack of clear itineraries can prevent them from finalizing bookings.
