Walid Cheddira's Napoli exit stalls as Padova deal falters and Cagliari shows interest

Napoli has put a hold on striker Walid Cheddira's proposed transfer to Serie C side Padova. Although Cheddira expressed enthusiasm for the move, the clubs could not reach an agreement and coach Massimiliano Allegri asked to keep the player on Napoli's roster to cover for the injured forward Lorenzo Lucca during the pre‑season camp. Padova already has a backup option in forward Luca Moro.

Meanwhile, the 1998‑born forward is being linked with other Serie A clubs. Cagliari have shown renewed interest, seeking a striker to strengthen their attack, while Genoa are also reported to be evaluating a possible signing.
