Walid Saad Secures YouTube Removal of Toilit Track Over Latifa Melody Claim

YouTube has taken down the promotional track released by masked singer Toilit after composer Walid Saad accused the song of copying the melody of the 2008 hit “في الكام يوم اللي فاتوا” performed by Tunisian star Latifa. Saad, who co‑wrote the original with lyricist Nader Abdullah, posted on X that the tune was used without permission in a telecom advertisement.

The dispute has moved from social‑media criticism to legal action. Latifa’s rights‑holding company has demanded the immediate deletion of the infringing material from all platforms and is pursuing formal proceedings. The controversy coincides with Latifa’s launch of her new summer album “شبهي بالملي.”

Both incidents were reported from the Gulf (Kuwait) and North Africa (Egypt), highlighting a regional clash over intellectual‑property rights in the music industry.
