Walker Cup team announced for competition at Lahinch

The Great Britain and Ireland team has been announced for the upcoming Walker Cup, an amateur golf competition against the United States. The event is scheduled to take place at Lahinch Golf Club in County Clare, Ireland, on September 5-6.

Captain Dean Robertson has selected a 10-player squad including Stuart Grehan of Ireland, Niall Sheils Donegan of Scotland, and Connor Graham of Scotland. The rest of the team consists of English players: Eliot Baker, Ben Bolton, Sam Easterbrook, Josh Hill, Luke Poulter, Tyler Weaver, and Jack Whaley. Thomas Higgins and David Howard have been named as reserves.

The United States team enters the competition as favorites, seeking a sixth consecutive victory. The Great Britain and Ireland squad aims to break the American winning streak, with their last victory occurring in 2015 at Royal Lytham & St Annes. Approximately 8,000 spectators are expected to attend the event at Lahinch.
