Walker Warner wins 2026 Ocean Home Award for Maui guest house

Walker Warner has received the 2026 Ocean Home Award for Modern Architecture in the Under 7,000 Square Feet category for a guest house project located beside Makena Beach on Maui, Hawai‘i.

Designed by the San Francisco-based firm, the structure utilizes a pavilion arrangement organized around a boardwalk to connect with the surrounding landscape and provide 180-degree ocean views. The architecture features traditional shed roofs and incorporates stacked lava rock and board-formed concrete to integrate the buildings into the coastal environment. The design aims to let the rich textures of the interior and the layered landscape serve as the primary focus while the architecture acts as a refined backdrop.
