Walking festivals and biodiversity tours organized in Portugal
Various walking and nature activities are being organized across Portugal to promote biodiversity and regional tourism. In the Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve, the “Caminho dos Polinizadores” (Path of the Pollinators) will take place on October 18. This guided interpretive walk aims to educate participants on biodiversity and the vital role of pollinators within the protected area. The initiative is part of a series of workshops funded by the Environmental Fund and led by the Associação de Beneficiários da Lezíria Grande.
Additionally, the 3rd edition of the Alentejo Walking Festival is scheduled for October 31 and November 1. Organized by the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo in partnership with local municipalities, the festival features nearly 50 organized walks throughout the Alentejo region. The event seeks to promote the region's established hiking networks and connect tourists with local rural heritage, megalithic sites, and nature-based tourism.
