Wallapop reports 60% increase in vinyl record searches

Searches for vinyl records on the resale platform Wallapop increased by 60% during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. This trend indicates a growing interest in physical music formats among the digital generation, despite the dominance of streaming services.

In Portugal, the most searched and sold artists in vinyl format include Michael Jackson, Iron Maiden, Queen, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift. The resurgence of vinyl is attributed to the desire for a tangible connection to music, allowing collectors to appreciate cover art and the ritual of listening to full albums. The second-hand market facilitates this by allowing both vintage classics and contemporary releases to reach new audiences.
