Wallersee search operation concludes after abandoned items found
A large-scale search operation was launched at Wallersee near Seekirchen on Wednesday afternoon after abandoned personal items, including a towel and shoes, were discovered on the shore.
Emergency responders, including approximately 40 firefighters from Seekirchen, a boat crew from Henndorf, and divers from the Salzburg professional fire department, mobilized under the assumption that a person might be missing in the water. The operation also utilized sonar equipment, a police helicopter, and the emergency medical helicopter Christophorus 6.
Despite the extensive search, both surface and sonar scans yielded no evidence of a person in the lake. Authorities noted that no missing person reports had been filed with the police. The operation was concluded without results at approximately 15:00.
