Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing nears December opening

Construction continues on the $92 million Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing in Agoura Hills, located over the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. Despite the site still appearing as an active construction zone, the California Natural Resources Agency maintains that the project is on track to open to wildlife on December 2.

The project is being executed in two stages. The first stage, which involved the vegetated bridge over the 101 Freeway, was completed in June 2025. The current second stage includes the wildlife crossing over Agoura Road, utility relocations, earthwork, and habitat restoration.

Scheduled activities include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a public celebration at King Gillette Ranch. While some planting and finishing work will continue after the official opening, Agoura Road is expected to undergo weekday closures for bridge work and backfill operations through November 30.
