Wallowa County honors Patty and Glen Engelking with Weed Warrior Award

The Wallowa County Weed Board has named Patty and the late Glen Engelking of Imnaha as the recipients of the 2025 Weed Warrior Award. The honor recognizes their long-term commitment to land stewardship and their dedication to protecting local lands through invasive weed control.

Patty Engelking, a fourth-generation rancher, utilized extensive research and hands-on experience to become an expert in weed identification and management. Glen Engelking, a heavy industrial mechanic and craftsman, partnered with her to implement practical weed-management programs on their 433-acre ranch, which they purchased in 2011.

Beyond their own property, the Engelkings were noted for mentoring young workers, sharing practical skills, and encouraging personal growth in those who worked on their ranch.
