Wallowa County nurse practitioner charged with opioid prescription tampering

Sarah Georgine Peterson, a 45-year-old nurse practitioner, faces 18 criminal counts of drug tampering and computer crime in Wallowa County, Oregon. The charges, all Class C felonies, stem from allegations that Peterson used a computer to write nine false prescriptions for Oxycodone and Percocet between August 2023 and January 2024, diverting the opioids to herself.

Peterson previously owned and operated Peterson Primary Care in Enterprise. While she was initially released under an agreement that prohibited her from contacting potential crime victims, a judge recently issued an arrest warrant after District Attorney Rebecca Frolander moved to revoke that deal due to a violation of the contact prohibition. Peterson, a resident of Lewiston, Idaho, has a hearing scheduled for October 28 to enter a plea.
