Walmart Costa Rica announces recruitment drives and 121 seasonal roles

Walmart Costa Rica is conducting recruitment drives known as “Martes de Oportunidades” (Opportunity Tuesdays) to fill various vacancies across the country. These in-person recruitment sessions take place every Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at multiple locations, including stores in Heredia, Alajuela, San Sebastián, Tibás, Guadalupe, Desamparados, Curridabat, Santa Ana, Ciudad Quesada, Liberia, and Cartago Centro, as well as Maxi Palí San Francisco de Dos Ríos.

In addition to retail locations, recruitment is occurring at the Industrias Cárnicas Integradas (ICI) plant, the Avícola plant, and distribution centers (CEDI) in El Coyol, Alajuela, and Coris, Cartago. Starting August 18, the company will specifically begin a recruitment process to fill 121 temporary positions to bolster operations during the year-end and beginning-of-year season.

The company’s hiring model prioritizes soft skills over traditional academic requirements. Candidates must be able to read and write, present an identity card, and possess skills in customer service, assertive communication, and teamwork. Positions require availability for rotating shifts and physical effort. Depending on the role, a valid food handler's permit and registration with the Ministry of Health may be necessary.
