Germany reports multiple serious traffic accidents and highway closures
Germany has experienced a series of significant traffic accidents across various regions, resulting in multiple injuries and major infrastructure disruptions.
In Dortmund, a 13-year-old was seriously injured during a suspected illegal car race involving a VW Arteon and a BMW X5. Separately, an 18-year-old motorcyclist was also seriously injured in a collision on the Emscherallee.
Major highway disruptions occurred on the A2 near Kamen/Bergkamen, where a heavy transporter carrying a construction crane overturned, blocking both directions and causing environmental concerns due to fuel leaks. On the A70, a Polish truck driver crashed into a concrete barrier in a construction zone, leading to a lengthy closure.
Other notable incidents include a fatal accident at the Greifswalder Straße/Grellstraße intersection in Berlin, a collision involving two cyclists in Dresden, and several accidents involving e-scooters and passenger vehicles in Kassel, Lohne, and Walsrode. These incidents have resulted in various levels of injury, ranging from minor to life-threatening.
