Walt Disney World adds wristband rule and expands resort access limits

Walt Disney World Resort has tightened guest access to several amenities. Effective June 28, buses and boats from Disney Springs may be used only by guests staying at Disney Resort hotels or those with a dining or Enchanting Extras reservation within the next two hours. Mobile ordering at quick‑service venues such as Gasparilla Island Grill, Contempo Café, Steakhouse 71 To Go, Capt. Cook’s, Kona Café To Go, Roaring Fork and Geyser Point Bar & Grill To Go is now geofenced, allowing orders only when guests are physically nearby.

For the Fourth of July weekend, the Polynesian Village Resort is issuing wristbands that grant exclusive access to its beach and Lava Pool from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4, barring non‑resort guests from viewing the Magic Kingdom fireworks from that spot. Cast members have erected barricades to enforce the rule. A similar restriction limits the annual Fourth‑of‑July golf‑cart parade at Fort Wilderness Resort to registered guests. Disney officials have hinted that other amenities, such as the monorail loop, could see comparable limits in the future.
