Walt Disney World attractions Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad close unexpectedly

Two major attractions at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, experienced unexpected closures on September 28.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure went offline around 10:11 a.m. due to what staff described as “technical difficulties.” During the shutdown, the attraction’s water was largely drained. While a separate refurbishment is scheduled for November 2, the cause of this sudden closure remains unconfirmed by the resort.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed approximately three hours later. This follows reports from guests on September 27 regarding an emergency evacuation and a reported fire within the attraction. While the coaster had recently returned to service in May after extensive track replacements, the recent disruptions have caused confusion among park visitors.
