Walt Disney World infrastructure faces issues during severe storms

Severe thunderstorms at Walt Disney World have exposed infrastructure vulnerabilities, specifically within EPCOT. Recent heavy rainfall caused significant localized flooding and forced the immediate closure of outdoor rides across all four theme parks.

Footage from the “Living with the Land” attraction shows rainwater pouring through the ceiling and into the indoor boat ride. The incident has raised concerns regarding the structural integrity of older pavilions at the park, some of which have been in operation since 1982.

Visitors are advised to prepare for the frequent summer storm season in Orlando, noting that while outdoor rides often continue to operate during rain, Disney protocols require closures during lightning and thunder.
