Walt Disney World Railroad to close for monthlong refurbishment

The Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom is scheduled for a monthlong closure for refurbishment. According to operating hours listed on the official website, the attraction will be out of commission from September 28 through October 29, 2026. The ride is expected to reopen on October 30.

Since July 2025, the railroad has been operating in a reduced “shuttle mode,” running only between the Main Street USA and Fantasyland stations to accommodate construction for Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land. This upcoming closure will temporarily suspend even that limited service. Disney has not officially released specific details regarding the nature of the maintenance or the reason for the full shutdown.
