Walt Disney World restores water transportation at Yacht Club Resort

Walt Disney World has reopened the FriendShip Boat dock at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, restoring water transportation services around Crescent Lake. The reopening follows unexpected maintenance delays that extended a scheduled refurbishment period beyond its original August 17 to August 21 timeframe.

The maintenance project involved overhauling the dock’s structural foundation and replacing aging timber decking with new wood boards. During the closure, guests were forced to use alternative transportation, such as buses or walking paths, to reach destinations like EPCOT’s International Gateway and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The restoration of the boat service provides immediate relief to guests staying at Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Beach Club, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. This development occurs alongside ongoing construction and refurbishment efforts currently transforming the Yacht and Beach Club resort areas.
