Walt Disney World undergoes park refurbishments and updates

Walt Disney World Resort is undergoing several refurbishments and updates across its parks. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is currently undergoing extensive work. Scaffolding has been erected around nearly every visible side of the building, including the iconic Hollywood Tower Hotel sign, as crews focus on repainting the facade. Recent observations show patches of bright pink paint being applied before the trademark distressed, aged finish is added.

In Storybook Circus, Big Top Souvenirs is scheduled to reopen on August 21 following a six-month refurbishment. The reopening will feature several new food items, including Mickey Churro Caramel Apples, Dumbo Caramel Apples, Dumbo Sandwich Cookies, and various themed cupcakes and marshmallow pops. This follows other recent park updates, such as the repainting of Cinderella Castle and upgrades to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
