Walter Hernández, former racing champion, targeted in violent robbery

Walter Hernández, a former Turismo Carretera (TC) champion and prominent potato producer, was the victim of a violent armed robbery at his estate, La Polola, located on the outskirts of Mar del Plata.

A group of at least six masked individuals stormed the property, physically assaulting Hernández and demanding cash. The assailants stole approximately one million pesos in cash, jewelry, mobile phones, and personal documentation. During the crime, the perpetrators held Hernández captive, forcing him into his own Toyota SW4 vehicle and driving him several kilometers away from the rural site.

The stolen vehicle was later discovered burned in the Las Heras neighborhood, an apparent attempt by the criminals to destroy evidence. Hernández sustained injuries to his head and abdomen during the attack but did not require immediate hospitalization. Local rural patrol units are currently investigating the incident to identify the suspects and determine if the group had prior knowledge of the property.
