Loan Peña case: Ex-commissioner Walter Maciel to testify
The trial regarding the disappearance of five-year-old Loan Danilo Peña, which occurred on June 13, 2024, in Corrientes, Argentina, has reached a significant turning point. Former police commissioner Walter Adrián Maciel, one of seven defendants accused of involvement in the child's abduction and concealment, has requested to testify. His defense attorney, Richard Vallejos, has scheduled this testimony for Thursday, September 10, before the Corrientes Federal Oral Tribunal.
Maciel, who served as the police chief in 9 de Julio at the time of the disappearance, stated during a recent hearing that he intends to cooperate with the judicial process and does not wish to obstruct the investigation.
