Walter Novellino expresses gratitude to AC Milan for family support

Former footballer Walter Novellino has expressed his deep gratitude toward AC Milan and coach Nils Liedholm for the support provided to his family during a medical crisis involving his daughter.

In a recent interview, Novellino recalled that when his firstborn, Michela, suffered a head injury as an infant that impacted her ability to speak, the club allowed him significant flexibility. He was permitted to remain at the hospital in Pavia until Thursdays, returning to training at Milanello on Fridays. He described this support as “commendable humanity.”

Reflecting on his playing career from 1978 to 1982, Novellino also discussed his decision to join Milan over Inter Milan, his experience winning the ‘Scudetto della Stella’ in 1979, and his positive impressions of teammates such as Franco Baresi.
