Walter Sabatini returns to Italian club Pro Patria

Pro Patria, a Serie D football club, announced the return of veteran director Walter Sabatini after more than four decades. The club shared a video on its social channels confirming Sabatini’s comeback; he will not hold a formal field or transfer‑market role but is expected to advise technical director Giovanni Giovanditti.

The announcement coincides with the club’s pursuit of experienced players. Midfielder Nicholas Siega, a 1991‑born veteran with nearly 400 professional appearances, is close to signing after training with the team. Defender Antonio Arpino, a 1995‑born former captain of Desenzano, is also in advanced talks. Sabatini’s historic résumé includes successful stints at Lazio, Palermo, Roma, and a noted rescue of Salernitana in 2022, underscoring the strategic weight of his return for the modest club.
