Walter Samuel targeted by Inter Milan for coaching role

Inter Milan has reportedly made an offer to former defender Walter Samuel to join Cristian Chivu’s technical staff. The potential move aims to bolster Inter’s defense, which has struggled recently, conceding 11 goals in six matches.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni confirmed the interest in Samuel during a press conference. Scaloni noted that Samuel previously turned down a similar proposal from Inter to remain with the Argentine national team through the World Cup, highlighting his commitment to the squad.

Samuel, currently 48, serves as an assistant coach for Argentina, specializing in set pieces. While a move to Inter could potentially occur in 2027, the Argentine Football Association is reportedly working to persuade him to remain with the national team.
