Walthamstow Bus Station: Man hospitalized after bus collision
An elderly man was hospitalized after being struck by a Stagecoach-operated route 275 bus at Walthamstow Bus Station on the morning of September 22. Emergency responders, including advanced paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, treated the individual at the scene before transporting him to a major trauma center as a priority.
Transport for London (TfL) and Stagecoach are conducting an urgent investigation into the collision. This incident occurs as TfL prepares to face health and safety charges in Westminster Magistrates Court. The Health and Safety Executive alleges that between 2004 and 2023, TfL failed to ensure pedestrian and vehicle traffic routes at the station's northern crossing were suitable. The station previously saw a fatal incident in December 2023 involving a retired nurse.
