Walther-Rathenau-Schulen hosts democracy debate event
The Walther-Rathenau-Schulen hosted a democracy-focused event organized by the Evangelisches Bildungswerk for 7th-grade students. The program featured actors performing a heated debate on opposing views to address societal polarization and the importance of respecting different opinions.
Topics discussed included racism, migration, crime, homophobia, and climate change. Students participated through hand-raising exercises regarding media trust and engaged in role-playing activities. The event concluded with a discussion session and an appeal from the school principal to continue discussing these topics within families and social circles. The initiative was part of the ‘Long Night of Democracy’ in Schweinfurt.
