Waltrop and Castrop-Rauxel to launch joint telephone service center

The cities of Waltrop and Castrop-Rauxel have signed an agreement to establish a joint service center for telephone inquiries. The initiative, signed by Mayors Marcel Mittelbach and Rajko Kravanja, is scheduled to begin operations in early 2027.

The new center will aim to handle frequently asked questions regarding general procedures, required documents, and authorizations directly. This centralized approach is intended to improve telephone accessibility for citizens while reducing the administrative workload for specialized departments within the respective city administrations.

By pooling technical and spatial infrastructure, both municipalities seek to increase efficiency in response to skilled labor shortages and tight financial conditions. Castrop-Rauxel has already utilized a similar service center model since 2024.
