Waltrop launches €100 subsidy for balcony solar panels

The German city of Waltrop began a municipal funding programme on 15 July 2026 that grants €100 for each approved balcony solar system (Balkonkraftwerk). The subsidy is limited to one unit per eligible applicant per dwelling and is available until 31 December 2026 or until the allocated budget is exhausted.

Eligibility is restricted to landlords, tenants or owners of units in two‑ or multi‑family houses within Waltrop; single‑family houses may receive funding only in justified exceptional cases.
