Waltrop revises access plans for new McDonald's location

The city of Waltrop is reconsidering the infrastructure plans for a proposed McDonald's branch on Brambauerstraße. Local officials are moving away from an initial plan that involved purchasing an old railway embankment from Stadthafen GmbH Lünen, a move that would have cost the city approximately 54,000 euros.

Instead, the city is proposing to provide access via the street ‘Zur Pannhütt’. This alternative approach would eliminate the need for a change to the land-use plan. The new layout for the drive-thru is designed to prevent traffic congestion on public roads.

The Economic and Urban Development Committee is scheduled to meet on September 22 to discuss the project, including a decision on early citizen participation. Further approvals from the main and finance committees, as well as the city council, will be required before the implementation contract with McDonald's is finalized.
