Waltroper Parkfest organizers address rising ticket prices

Organizers of the Waltrop Parkfest have addressed public criticism regarding the increasing cost of admission for the event. Despite rising ticket prices, the festival reported a loss of approximately 34,300 euros in its 2025 annual financial statement.

According to organizers Sören Backhove and Marco Patruno, the revenue of roughly 903,000 euros—an increase of 52,000 euros compared to 2024—was offset by rising operational expenses. Costs for items such as artist fees, electricity, and security reached nearly 880,000 euros. The organizers emphasized that the goal is to cover expenses and maintain a diverse program for various age groups rather than maximizing profit.
