Waminix circus‑theater show and Spanish child‑play report address children's screen‑time issues
The circus‑theater production Waminix, created by the cultural cooperative Proyecto Migra, staged ten performances during the winter holidays at the Timbre 4 venue in Buenos Aires. Directed by Osqui Guzmán and Leticia González de Lellis, the dystopian piece depicts a world ruled by heads of trash cans and urges audiences to preserve human values amid growing screen exposure.
Meanwhile, the Observatorio del Juego Infantil in Madrid warned that extreme heat, the closure of schoolyards and a shortage of shaded play spaces force children to spend more time in front of screens during summer. The observatory highlighted incidents such as parks banning foam balls and the lack of suitable areas for outdoor games, calling for improved public spaces to support children’s cognitive, emotional and physical development.
