Wande Coal attributes musical success to God over Don Jazzy

Nigerian singer Wande Coal has attributed his professional success to divine intervention rather than solely to his former mentor, Don Jazzy. In an interview with Channels Television, the singer addressed the long-standing public perception that Don Jazzy was the primary architect of his stardom.

Coal described his past collaboration with Don Jazzy as a partnership between “two talented people working together to achieve success,” emphasizing that his career trajectory was a result of spiritual guidance. He stated, “God is the reason for my success. I give all the credits to him because he was the one who brought me out and made me successful.”

Wande Coal was originally discovered in 2006 by Don Jazzy and D’banj at the University of Lagos, leading to his signing with the Mo’ Hits record label. Following the split of the Mo’ Hits duo in 2012, Coal joined Mavin Records before departing in 2013 to establish his own music company, Black Diamond Entertainment.
