Wande Coal reportedly reverts to Islam during 41st birthday celebrations
Afrobeats singer Wande Coal, born Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, has reportedly reverted to Islam. The news follows the circulation of a video from his 41st birthday celebration on October 18, 2026, which showed the singer in a home setting with prayer mats and guests dressed in traditional Islamic attire.
Music executive Bizzle Osikoya, co-founder of The Plug Global, appeared to confirm the development on social media. When questioned by a user, Osikoya responded, “He reverted.” Following this exchange, reports identified the singer’s Muslim name as AbdulGaniyy Ibn Ojosipe.
Wande Coal has not yet released a personal statement regarding his religious affiliation. The singer rose to prominence as a member of Mo’ Hits Records and most recently released the album ‘King Coal’ in 2026.
