Wang Jin-pyng asked to leave stage during firefighter banquet

During a year-end appreciation banquet for the Kaohsiung Volunteer Fire Brigade on October 31, former Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-pyng was asked to leave the stage while performing a song.

Wang, who serves as the president of the National Volunteer Firefighters Association, was singing “You Are My Brother” alongside Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai and other political figures. During the performance, mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en and city councilor Chen Li-na approached Wang and requested he step down. While the specific motive for the request was not immediately clarified, video of the incident sparked online debate regarding political decorum.

Ko Chih-en later addressed the incident, stating that she maintains a close relationship with Wang and expressed gratitude for his mentorship. She urged others not to create unnecessary conflict between them, though she did not provide a specific reason for the interruption during the event.
