Wanindu Hasaranga withdrawn from England tour due to injury

Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been withdrawn from the ongoing limited-overs series against England and recalled to Sri Lanka due to physical concerns.

Cricket officials confirmed that the star leg-spinner has been experiencing stiffness and muscle spasms. To manage his fitness, team medical staff decided to send him home ahead of schedule for further monitoring and assessment by the Sri Lanka Cricket medical team.

Hasaranga’s departure is considered a significant setback for the squad, given his dual role as a key wicket-taker in the middle overs and a contributor with the bat. Management has not yet confirmed if a replacement will be named for the remainder of the tour.
